At some points in the entrepreneurial journey, you feel like you are on FIRE. You are excited about what you’re up to.
Then at some point, either something happens or maybe you didn’t feel like you hit a result you wanted to create or something else just plain throws you off your A-game.
I know for me, I had something things happen earlier in the year that led me to not feel like my usual, joyous self. Here are some indicators that you may have lost your edge:
- Not having the same passion that you once had for your business
- Not being in the mood to take action that would generate a result
- Feeling like you are failing
- Circumstances pop up and take you sideways
- Feeling like you’re disappointing everyone around you
If you are experience ANY of the above – I get it! And you don’t have to stay in that space. Here are the top go-to steps I take when I need to get my edge back:
1: Take a step back and look at the big picture.
In my Powerhouse Community, I call it the Big Picture Plan. What is your vision right now? Realize that you can give yourself a fresh start at any time. I ask myself questions like:
What if today was the first day of a new year? What would you want to create between now and year-end?
No matter what has happened up until this point, what do I want to be celebrating at the end of this year?
2: Look at who is influencing your mind.
Who are you spending your time with? Who are you surrounding yourself with? What books are you reading? What podcasts are you listening to?
I have a habit of listening to podcasts that inspire me whenever I need a boost.
3: What specific process are you following to achieve your goal?
Once you have a goal in mind (based on your Big Picture Plan), determine what course of action you’ll take to get there.
This is where having a coach or community comes in handy because you can always get feedback on the next best steps to take from a source you trust!
4: Commit to a specific action step.
Commit to the exact next step you’re going to take according to your plan. Include a date and time and do whatever it takes to uphold the commitment.
